Protesters returned to the streets of Southern California on Saturday and marched through Los Angeles, with a massive march through West Hollywood topping the list. At least 20,000 people gathered near Hollywood Boulevard and blocked it to vehicles, police said. Protesters marched westward on Hollywood Blvd. , north on Avenida La Brea, then south, until you reach Boulevard San Vicente.

Los Angeles will host the 2028 Summer Olympics and Paralympics, becoming the third city to host both. It is the first time the Olympics have been held in Los Angeles and the second time the city has hosted the Paralympics. Los Angeles also hosts the MLB, with the LA Dodgers, LA Galaxy and LA Lakers among the Major League sports teams.

The Los Angeles area hosted the Rose Bowl Game, commonly known as the National Football League (NFL) National Championship Game, and has hosted various incarnations of the championship game in the past, most recently in 2014 and 2015. To celebrate and host the CONCACAF Gold Cup this year, the first ever CONCACAF Men's World Cup qualifier between the United States and Mexico will take place on July 1, 2016.

Los Angeles - The region's college teams produce the USC Trojans athletics team and the UCLA Bruins basketball team. They are historically the leading organization in college sports, and other major sports teams are the Los Angeles Lakers, UCLA Bruins Basketball, USC Bruins Football and UCLA Rams Football. USC's Trojans team will play in the Pac-12 Conference.

UCLA has won more titles in men's basketball than any other school, and USC has also produced some of the most successful athletes in college basketball history, including Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love.

Los Angeles Lakers basketball player is the most successful player in the history of the league with 12 titles. Only the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs have won more titles in their history than the LA Lakers, who each won 12.

Los Angeles is home to a number of sports venues, including the SoFi Stadium, the largest football stadium in the United States. The stadium is part of the master planned neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, and is located at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard, south of Hollywood Boulevard.

It was the temporary home of the Los Angeles Rams for the first four seasons of their existence, from 1958 to 1962. The team played four consecutive seasons in New York City before moving to LA in 1958 and San Francisco in 1961. In 1962, the team moved to California and played its first season in 1962 in San Diego, California, and its last in 1964.

The Los Angeles Ice Dogs of the IHL played in LA for two seasons in the 1970s, first as the LA Cobras and then as a member of the American Hockey League. After one season they parted ways and played their final season in San Diego, but not before a brief stint in New York City.

The West Hollywood Rowing Team was a rowing team formed for the Amsterdam Gay Games in 1998. The Los Angeles Angels played their home games in LA at Wrigley Field, but moved to the newly built Dodger Stadium, the so-called Angels, in 1962 to Chavez Ravine Stadium, where they have been tenants of the Dodgers since 1965. The participants in the Gay Polo tournament have participated in a number of gay-friendly sporting events, most notably the 1988 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The Southern California Collegiate Baseball League competes with the Orange County Angels.
