Hollywood California Art
One of the best-kept secrets in Hollywood art history is that the magical garden of the Lost Art School at the Los Angeles Art Institute of Art (LAACA) was the subject of a documentary by the late filmmaker and artist John Travolta, "The Enchanted Garden." In recent years, the school has been in a severe state of decay; the buildings and grounds had fallen into disrepair and it ceased operations, hidden behind an empty building on the west side of Hollywood Boulevard, just a few blocks from the Hollywood Bowl.
Currently, the focus is primarily on the redesign of the facade on Burbank Blvd. The Hollywood Art Center, which you can enter by crossing the threshold of Highland Avenue through a long driveway south of the Hollywood Bowl on the corner of N. Highland Ave. Originally expanded in the early 20th century, it housed the former home of a couple who bought it in 1905 from Douglas Fairbanks Sr. for $5,000.
