Only go here if you like being ripped off

I brought my car here because the parking break light wouldn't turn off and I thought it would be covered under the warranty. It wasn't. I asked how much something like this usually cost to fix and George said, "I'm giving you an estimate of $99." An hour later I get a call that the emergency break switch needed to be replaced and that, because the whole dashboard needed to be taken apart, it would cost $516. I asked what this switch does and was told, "it activates every time you break and cruise control won't work without it." Well, my cruise control was working just fine, so I decided to skip the repair. They made me pay the $99, insisting it wasn't an estimate of repair, but the fee for doing the diagnostic. Huh? I took my car to my regular mechanic, Funk Bros., and they agreed the switch needed to be replaced. The part cost $53 and, with the hour of labor, the total bill came to less than $150 -- $350 LESS than what Hollywood Toyota wanted to charge. They also told me this is a known problem with the Prius and Toyota has issued an updated switch. In my opinion, if it's a known problem, George at Hollywood Toyota should have been able to tell me that when I brought the car in!

Toyota of Hollywood had a large selection of cars. I was searching for a black Camry and this was one of the few dealerships that actually had a few on the lot.

I bought my Toyota at Toyota of Hollywood in 2006, even though I'd arranged my own financing, I was forced to go through a credit check & endure a one hour car loan pitch, before they'd process the sale. I took it in once for a tune-up w/ a coupon & the service manager tried to strong-arm me into unnecessary repairs on my BRAND NEW car. I never went back. Experiences w/ the repair department at Toyota of North Hollywood have been wonderful.
